Another SAD Goodbye

Well, another sad goodbye was in order on Wednesday morning.(We just had one 2 weeks ago with Landon and Chase - look on older posts and you can see our adventures with them). Nadia was finally getting used to Isaac, (well sort of). But she was petting him on her own....which I am not sure Jennifer was all that thrilled about. I think she went through 3 or 4 things of germ juice while she was here. (Love U Jeni)

After lots of great hugs and kisses goodbye, they were on their way. Well....they didn't get 3 miles down the road when Josh called - they had a flat tire. Grandpa to the rescue....and off they went. They made it to the airport on time and all was well.

I am sure they are glad to be home!!! WE MISS ALL OF YOU, it is very quiet here!!!

A Day Craftin' and Playing at Asheville Fun Depot

Tuesday was a very rainy day, thanks to Fay. We spent the morning playing the DVD Game Madagascar. Kaden was a true winner (knowing most all his animal facts). Nadia even played and got some of the animal questions right, (until she decided painting rocks would be more fun). So, she and I retreated to the basement to paint the rocks we had gathered from Cherokee River 2 days before. While we were painting bunnies and cats, Kaden finished up the game and joined us. He made a very cute mouse rock....all by himself. He was quite proud.

After lunch we went to Asheville Fun Depot, the premier play spot here in the mountains.Nadia started to golf, then spotted the soft play area (like at McDonalds) and decided that was where she would spend most of her time. I went with her, and she wasn't in there 2 minutes when she had a new friend she was sliding and climbing with. Kaden mini-golfed, we all mini-bowled, they (Josh, Jeni, Kaden and Grandpa) did bumper cars, we played games, won prizes and ATE of course!! It was a great fun afternoon at the FUN DEPOT!

This is for LUKE

Josh says to tell you:

It was a very cool 68 degrees today at sliding rock (and that was NOT the water temp) which was probably 40 degrees. As a matter of fact, the park was closed, it was so miserable the lifeguard or park ranger didn't even show for work. Shrinkage or no, Josh says he will always be a bigger man. LOL !!!!!!! (I have no clue what that means!)

The Breakthrough

After spending the first 3 days on the couch in the family room playing with paper dolls, Nadia finally decided Isaac wasn't so bad after all.......

Josh Howell Family Visit

Hello, Josh, Jeni Kaden and Nadia arrived on Friday, it has taken me a bit to get it together and get pix on this blog. It is already Monday and they go home on Wednesday, and I haven't even posted anything yet. Sorry! Saturday we went Kayaking and Kaden loved it....now he wants a Kayak for Christmas. Sunday we went to Santa Land and then looked for flat rocks (to paint later) in the Cherokee River. Today, although it started rainy, we headed for Sliding Rock. Josh, after much consternation this AM, decided he would go down with Nadia. Nadia went once on Josh's lap, but unfortunately went under and would not go again. The shock of the COLD water did her in. OH NO! But the trooper Kaden, went down 6 or 7 times and then he too decided it was way too cold. Then of course it was a trip to the ice cream shop at the entrance to Pisgah Forest. It was a great fun day. BUT NOW, both Grandpa and Josh are sleeping in the family room. Snoring, matter of fact. Oh, and by the way Luke, Josh said he is a bigger man than you will ever be!!!!

GOOD-BYE

Can you find the boys in this pile of Pillows and Blankets? Well, they ARE there! Sleeping peacefully!

A SAD Goodbye

Well today is the final blog. I will miss those two immensely. But Next Time please parents remind me that boys eat every hour on the hour. I forgot, I guess....how much boys eat.

Today we went to see the mummy movie, Grandpa made wooden crosses with them to make necklaces, we played some more badminton, they played pool a few times and last but not least we roasted once again. Just marshmallows this time. We have spent some time watching the Olympics too.

I would like to thank all of you parents who allowed Landon and Chase to come. We (grandpa and I) will be forever grateful to you for trusting us with the responsibility of your children. They are 2 great kids. Again thank u.

Under the Blueberry Bushes

Friday Activities

Hello everyone, the boys had a very busy day today. They woke up, ate, and off to the blueberry patch...that was after spending the morning in the craft room creating and outside sliding down Nareau Hill. After the Blueberry Picking, it was home (they wanted to spend the day at home today) to more sliding, playing badminton (with a ball) and various other things. They spent a little time looking for arrowheads???? Early evening we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows in the new fire pit, with more badminton and ended the night with fire works (sparklers) AND THEN A SHOWER!!!!
We are now on to "Swiss Family Robinson" to end their very busy day. However it seems Jim and I are more tired than them...and they are the ones doing everything???

DRIVING!!!

Please post back to us!!!

I am asking any and all who are looking at this blog - I think the boys would really enjoy it if you post a comment to them. We will be adding more later today!
